  1. Re: 1923 Gibson Mandolin Production Estimate - By Model

Just so interesting! Makes me wonder just how many white face A3s (all years)? Also, I echo Felix. Just how many A2Zs were made?

What a legacy, Joe! You are Mr. Gibson!

snake or paddle? For a paddle-head, it seems high. For a snake, it may be a good deal?

Not that I'm looking. I'm happy with my A3!

I sold the one I bought. I prefer my A3. Heck, I prefer any A5 over the hybrid I bought.

For me? I like knowing the horsepower is there if I need it.

My struggle; however, is managing the dynamic range. That's the hard part, for me!

Re: What instrument is the hardest? My experience

I think the hardest instrument is the larynx followed by the pucker. I mean, think of the 10,000 hrs we invested between the ages of birth and 4 to learn how to operate the larynx. Not everybody...

I'm posting to see my count. Heck, I think I started in 2003, so that'd be 16 years! Hard to believe. . .

    Re: '17 A-1 Bridge

I've kept the original bridge on my A3 for the last 35 years. I did have it adjusted. I've had it lowered. I've had it raised (glue on a shim).

I did have a luthier replace the one-piece with a...

Larry's built two mandolins for me. We'd talk on the phone and swap emails. I'd try going through his web page. What you describe sounds like it's a scam.
