I can't say one way or another what Homer was playing on this album, but he definitely played a Fender electric mandolin.

Re: John Paul Jones on American tv

He mostly played bass on that Mutual Admiration Society tour, but did play mandolin for an instrumental duet of "Going to California" with Sean Watkins. Nice recording here:...

Donnie looks like he's getting ready to take a swing like fellow Cubs fan Chris Thile.

Re: Who makes 2 point models

  17. Re: Gender and age distribution of mando players

    D'oh, that's exactly what I read wrong.
  18. Re: Gender and age distribution of mando players

I'm confused by this number, or is it unrelated to the pasted graphic breakdown? According to that table, 77.21% are 45 or older. 14.71+19.37+21.23+21.90 = 77.21.

    Re: Ritchie Blackmore's octave

Yeah, that one looks different than the first video, different soundhole, different bridge. But if you're focusing on the (IMO ugly) art, that's a different question.

    Re: Informal Poll

I think "headstock envy" likely refers to the name of the maker. Not to be confused with "scroll envy."
