World Premiere! (Sort Of)
Uploading an old audio-video of an old band, I clicked on the option to schedule a premiere, just to see what that was. Now I can't seem to undo it. So at 3:15 ET it's going to magically appear, I guess.
It's a snappy little number called "Grove Street Rag," which I wrote back in 1980 while with my first real band, Tin Can Alley. A few years ago the fiddler posted on youtube a few selections from a live recording we did back then. Somehow I never got around to doing anything with them until now. If you can't wait until the world premiere, here's a sneak preview of the track. Enjoy! :mandosmiley:

I like the sound! Are those dancing ears?
Re: World Premiere! (Sort Of)
Yes, they are! That was worked up by Lou, the guitar player. One of our main influences was R. Crumb and the Cheap Suit Serenaders, and that influence may have manifested itself graphically as well as musically. I guess Dave, the fiddler, didn't have a lot to work with for imagery. The band lived from 1980-1982, well before the age of cell phones and wall-to-wall videos and photos. :whistling: I'm just thrilled there are any audio recordings. I must have some, in deep storage ... It was a fun band, to say the least. :mandosmiley:

Here's another, perhaps our biggest hit. In a manner of speaking. ;)
That's Dave and Lou on the singing, me on the, ah, humorous bits.
This is one song that truly changed my life. And for the better. But that is quite a long story, for another time. :whistling:
