Experimental Mini Electric 4-String MINI-lin!
I wanted to make something that I could practice on without worrying about it and carrying a whole case around with me. I saw those pocket fretboard for guitar and thought it would be cool to make a whole tiny instrument.
This is my first time making an instrument and I definitely learned what I should do and not do next time in order to make it more precise, playable, and pleasant-sounding. I want to make more sometime! I got better tools just now so I'll use them on the next one. Because of my living situation, I have to use only tools that I can use in my room and I can't have anything too messy or loud, so I just used a tiny hacksaw and sandpaper/a sanding sponge to shape the body. :)
About the tiny mandolin:
- 4 Phosphor bronze (D'Addario EJ74) strings
- Nail frets
- Mystery craft wood fretboard (probably basswood or some blend)
- Mahogany body and neck carved
- 12" in length and, not including the hardware, 1-1/2" wide
- Donner TP-1 Pickup
