Lovely Vega Cylinder Back
THIS ONE is priced just a bit too high to attract a bid, I think. But it seems in just perfect shape, down to the lining of the case. A lovely instrument.

Re: Lovely Vega Cylinder Back
The bridge has been shifted and new string slots cut. It sits way off center. Nice looking otherwise tho.

Ha! I hadn't noticed the shade tree luthier bridge adjustment. But of course that's no big deal, and not one in a thousand instruments of this era make it to today in this kind of condition. Of course, I haven't seen or played it, and have no financial interest...

I don't know much about these...what would be a realistic price point?
Re: Lovely Vega Cylinder Back
Considering the condition, the starting bid price, while high, is not completely outrageous. "Find another one." There's not even any stray scratches around the tuner posts, and the case looks almost new.
Usually, I see these going from around $1200 to $1500 in more moderate condition.
Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to offer $1500. If I wanted it badly enough, I might even go up to $2000. But it's easy enough for me to say that, because I already have a pretty nice one and I'm not going to buy another.

Re: Lovely Vega Cylinder Back
In typical condition this version, needing a setup - around $600-1,200. But I've never seen one in better condition, so it all depends on how much that means to a buyer. I certainly wouldn't scoff at a buyer willing to pay a premium.
I bet the seller would take $750 for this one, if they really want it sold.

But I'd save my pennies for the deluxe pearly model 207!

Re: Lovely Vega Cylinder Back
Just yesterday I played my first Vega cylinder back. It looked quite a bit like the one Brad shows.
I really loved the sound, and it was louder than I would have guessed. These beauties could make one happy for ever.
