I don't have the eye...I had heard that on previous threads. Sounded amazing! But of course, Andrew's playing and singing were fantastic.

The Instagram feed for Straight Up Strings has a great pic of Andrew and Roger Siminoff with their Loars

OMGosh-- Phenomenal! (my spelling above was not caught due to the size of the letters on my phone!):) Back on the computer! Whew! Pardon the photo lack of clarity.
We were sitting just to the left of the band in the front row. The songs were incredible. "Mother Deer" is about Andrew's mother and it is such a perspective on loss and appreciating a life.

Sounds like a great show for sure. I reckon Andrew will get good use of that 'un.

Yes, Scott, My wife and I are still humming the songs. The musicianship in this band is so excellent, as you know. Emily's guitar and fiddle skills, along with her harmonies and lead vocals are outstanding. Andrew on guitar or mandolin, his songwriting and his voice are just so strong. The band is so professional-- it was a joy to take it all in.
The lyrical content inspired me on so many levels.

The Fretboard Journal article was informative and the pictures were cool too. They are one of my favorite new bands for sure.

Thanks for the reminder about the Fretboard Journal. I didn't read the specific issue yet. I struck out looking for it. I will try again. I left that concert hall in San Luis Obispo feeling uplifted; also inspired as a mandolin player/songwriter.
