Ive been intrigued by the Schecter cello blaster for a while, kind of an electric cittern/mandocello....
I didn't know if anyone had any experience with them, all of the youtube videos are pretty "shreddy".... I was kind of looking for a 5ths tuned electric guitar....

There's only one Korean humbucker in mine, and it's in the bridge position, so smooth and mellow would not describe the tone. There were later versions of the Celloblaster, the C5X (Strat) and A5X (pointy), that often came with two pickups. Might be better choices for tonal variety.
The scale is LONG. Going from TB or even guitar to this will be literally a stretch. It does the low rumble emandocello thing well, because that is what it was designed to do. It wouldn't be my choice to play clean and up the neck.
If I were in your position, I'd get a cheap Strat and experiment with fifths tunings. OTOH, if you really want the scale and low tone, the Schecter can be had fairly cheaply - most people don't know what they are and feel Schecters are only worth a couple hundred bucks. Most, by this stage, have been through the wars as well.

What is a celloblaster? Is it similar to a 5 string bass guitar? Sorry for the ignorance. Just curious. :)
I've got one for sale, if you're interested... Lots of fun, but I rarely play it.
I modified a fender squire bullet into a 5 string . I do not play it much but it was fun to make . lots of bottom end . the low C is a bit flubby kind of like a dropped D on regular guitar . I did upgrade the tuners ,nut , bridge , pups ,pots and switches . which cost way more than the guitar did . the body of the squire is MFD board ( sawdust and glue ) with a hard plastic like shell which made it hard to modify . before modifying to 5 , I did have it tuned in fifths FCGDAE but the F was a bass string .

26.25" scale, single coil neck pup, mini humbucker bridge pup. Cello tuning would probably be ideal, but I'd like to try dropping it down it GDAE (mando down two octaves).
