A-style finished
This was one of my covid projects. Haven't built a mandolin in quite some time and my college roommate wanted an A-style with a black top. Originally it was going to be all black, but I wanted to work on hand applied sunburst, so changed the plan in mid course (which is why the back book matching is so bad). I'm particularly pleased with the photographic backdrop which I tie dyed myself. In my judgement it sounds ok.Attachment 195047Attachment 195048Attachment 195049Attachment 195050Attachment 195051Attachment 195052

Re: A-style finished
Nice looking mando, Charles. I particularly like the inlay.

Re: A-style finished
Out of curiosity why didn't you run the strings through the holes? Maybe make a bit of difference tonally?

Re: A-style finished
Very nice job.
And I hate threading strings through tailpieces too.

It's four aces from where I'm sitting! Well done.

Re: A-style finished
Excellent question. I plead ignorance. When I restring it to send it off I will do so.
