I was just about to post about this. Go to bluegrass.com to see the schedule. Today has Peter Rowan at 2:00(Eastern time), Del McCoury, John Prine and others later today. Great people thru Sunday - Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Sierra Hull, etc.
Also, google pictures of Telluride if you're not familiar with it to get a sense of the incredible beauty of the place the festival is happening.
"Thank you for making it through a truly unreasonable amount of mandolin playing" - CT
HAHA
Yeah, this is great! Thile and now Sam.
wanting to be there. Maybe next year
Went last year for my bachelor party. Hope to return next year.
Let's go Mark, we can catch a ride out of Raleigh or Charlotte together lol. I had a last minute chance to go this year but decided not to. Regretting it.
Del now.
Rain and Snow. Oh yeah.
Here's the lineup. All times Mountain

Be prepared for 10,000 ft altitude. Sunburn happens fast, bake in the day, freeze at night, hydrate. You'll definitely get attitude sickness. Hope the altitude doesn't get you. I live at 7200 ft and I can feel it when I go.
The John Prine set that just ended was incredible.
Bummer. network stream crapped out midway through the first song by Jerry Douglas. Hope they get it fixed asap!
Hope they get it back for the Brothers Punch.
Stream's back. I might catch some of these shows today: Mandolin Orange at 12:15, Tim O at 2, Sam Bush at 8.
If u haven't heard the Lil Smokies, they are a great young progressive bluegrass band on in 10 minutes. Band competition winners from last year.
Sam Bush, the King of Telluride now! Playing songs from his new CD! Transcendental Meditation Blues!
Sam brings a whole other level when he plays TRide. What an amazing set so far.
I agree Don. Sam is always one of the highlights of T-ride. Takes me back 30-something years ago when I saw him there with Newgrass.
I've been listening today off and on. Fantastic music. Has there been much bluegrass? I've only been once and that was in 1975. Loads o' fun!
Cheers.
Del on Thursday provided the bluegrass for the festival. Telluride is mainly jam bands. Sam shows all those jam bands how vacuous they really are. He actually plays music with melody and soul. The other highlight today was Mandolin Orange. Just stellar. The David Rawlings Machine was out-of-sight good on Thursday.
Tomorrow I'm looking forward to Sierra, Emmy Lou, and the house band set is usually outstanding if I can stay up that late.
So glad to be able to listen to KOTO's live stream, over the pond here in good'ole Germany!
After Sam's great set it's about time to go to bed now (6:55am CET).....
:sleepy:
House band now...
Wow. Sound quality just took a major hit. Sounds like I'm listening to the whole band playing through a kazoo.
Bummer.
Hard to tell by streaming that they spent $2.5mil on a new stage, the view was the same for us soundcheck crashtest dummies! Maybe a little more snow at Lizard Head Pass. The only didjeridoo player on stage was Mandolinist Radim Zenkl with Peter Rowan(!)
