tennis racket bag for mandolin case cover
I just bought a Collings MT with a factory Collings-TKL case, and I'd like to get a tennis racket bag to use when traveling to keep the case in good shape. I went to a tennis shop the other day and didn't have any luck with the four or five bags I tried. I looked at similar threads here from the past few years, but couldn't find any bags that are still in production that would fit my case. Has anyone here purchased such a tennis bag for a Collings-TKL case recently?
The case dimensions, including latches, are 30" x almost 13" x 4.5".
Many thanks.
Re: tennis racket bag for mandolin case cover
Years ago I found a nice little case marked CIAO on the outside. It was meant for tennis rackets but fit my vintage Gibson case perfectly. Nowadays, tho, most tennis players want to carry a bunch of stuff to the match and want bigger cases. I found the best to be the Small Dog case cover. I was lucky to find two of the used over the years, one to fit a TKL shaped A style case and one for my vintage cases.

Mine is a Wilson Pro Staff 2-racket bag. $25 at Big5 Sporting Goods. Padded, insulated, with shoulder strap. Works like a champ.

Rains too much for tennis , Here.. so not carried in any shops.
A Few Coasties [USCG] are talking about using the one Outdoor court, here, for Bike Polo.
Re: tennis racket bag for mandolin case cover
Mine's too, a Wilson prostaff for two rackets.

I got a Wilson three racket bag that fits over a TKL F style case.
I just took the case into the sporting goods store and started trying on the bags until I found one that fit.

A Wilson US OPEN three racket bag fits my son's TKL A case. Also provides lots of storage in exterior pockets. Has a strap that frees up a hand to help carry other instruments and equipment. The down side is that the case has to be removed from the bag to open it. Used Ebay auction price was a fraction of the cost of a Small Dog or Colorado.

Two racket bags are out of favour it seems. Multiples of three are the order of the day. Any specialist sports store that caters for tennis players will stock these.
Re: tennis racket bag for mandolin case cover
I have a Wilson "Triad" three racket bag that works great, but I've had it a long time and even though they still market the Triad name, I'm sure the design has changed completely. But I think any three racket bag should work. If the insides have individual slots for the three rackets, you may need to cut those out.
Overall, using a tennis racket case is a great idea. It provides good protection at a fraction of the price of say a Colorado Case cover and it "disguises" the instrument as something that is less likely to be stolen.

Plus it makes you look athletic.
