Wow, that’s a lot of picks!
Holy Smokes! I hope those are being kept in a ventilated container and away from open flames, or that could become a hot mess o' picks! Thanks for sharing that Bratsche - very impressive.
If that was a pile of blue chips, you could really impress me:disbelief:
What would the shipping be if that was the pick sampler? And how long would each member take to sample!?
I see a few clown-barf-beauties in there!
That's the guy that always shows up at the jam session and never seems to have pick. Hey, can I borrow a pick? Always forgets to give it back.

Hey Bratsche,
Thanks very much for posting this photo! I've got to save this as 'exhibit 1' for the next time my wife says I have too many picks! I am an incurable pick-sampler, always trying the next 'best' pick, even though I have found one I really like. Next to your's though, I have no collection at all. Just the evidence a pick-addict like me needs!
Wow. Are you a closet hoarder, or just the kinda guy who can't quite seem to make up his mind? :))
As for me, I would be inclined to trade that entire pile for a single, say, Blue Chip CT55...
Nice. That’s Florida for ya!
So what’s your secret, Bratsche you wanna share some tips with us?
Sunlight and nutrients... do you make your own compost?
How do you stop these critters from getting loose on the neighbourhood?
Do they bite?
Sheesh... THEY'RE NOT MINE! The OP is a link to a local Craigslist ad, for those who didn't notice! :)) :)) :))

The seller estimates that there are 13,620 picks and he is asking $1500. That is about 11¢ per pick. He worked in a many NYC stores I used to frequent. Maybe one of those crazy youtubers should buy all of them and resin them into a solid body electric guitar instead of using colored pencils. :)
In metric, and please don’t buy the picks using this information, there may be errors.
Assuming each pick is 4cm squared, then 13,620 picks x4 =54,480 square centimètres.
the square root of 54,480 is about 230 centimètres.
So, if you were to stick all of these picks on the wall of a pub, record company, or pharmacy (pick/peak), then they would cover about 2.5X2.5 mètres.
Or a band (on the wall) of 3 feet by 21 feet.
(and just on the photo there are 11 that are identifiable as the same. That pile area is, guessing, a quarter of a metre squared so there are probably 20 X 11 picks that are the same hidden in the pile...) The picks were identified because ONE face is printed, so you can probably at least double the number ie. 440. But still only about 1 in 100.
I guess if someone had an algorithm you could check pick colour too and work out distibution...
Someone has way too much time on their hands. Thanks.
A wise guru once said: "For every mandolin there exists a perfect pick."
And: "For every pick there exists a perfect mandolin."
And finally: "And never the twain shall meet."
shazam! MAS justified.
I wish I could dig through that lot and get all the old Fender confettis from the 90s. Those were made out of a particular material I really like. My last one broke several years ago. I actually JB Welded it back together and still use it sometimes.
Did someone say BC picks ?
Shown - actual pick assortment of your average player who can't believe anyone would spend $5, $10 or $30 for a pick....
Man, I'm a slacker. I thought I had a lot of picks (and in my defense, PAS is WAY cheaper and picks are WAY easier to hide than mandolins.) I need to get looking at new picks again (although I really prefer BC to everything else, but I keep looking!)
Now the price says $500. That's $0.03/pick. That's well worth it, even if his estimate of the actual number is wrong by a 100 or so. Thinking.....my PAS could be cured for the rest of my life! LOL!!!!
