Crap! RIP Bill - likely figuring out how to improve the angels' harp sounds in heaven.......
My heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends , and co workers. You're in my prayers, and I know which mandolin I'll pick up this evening, with both joy and sadness...
Oh, such sad news! So sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
Prayers out to his family and friends, Truly one of the best craftsmen there was!
RIP Bill
What a contribution he made to our community. A life well lived and a positive influence made.
Absolutely sad news.
Such sad news, I had no idea he was ill! He certainly left his mark on the luthierie world and music. He was quite a character and will be missed. My condolences to his family, friends and employees.
RIP, Bill. What sad news.
A huge loss. Fantastic instruments...a great company... innovator. His instruments will be a fitting legacy. RIP.
I am very sad to hear this, not just because I have a Collings MT which has been a great instrument for me.
He has done a huge amount for instrument making, and I would like to express my sympathy to his family, his friends and to all at Collings. Terrible news.
Was he ill? This seems very sudden, I'm quite taken aback; a real loss to the world of music. My condolences to his family friends and colleagues. People will play and speak of his work for hundreds of years.
"Come now Angel Band...."
How terribly sad.
May his family and friends know our hearts go out to them.
This is such sad news. He was one of kind as are his instruments. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
I knew of his illness, but not the severity. A great loss to the acoustic music world and his family. RIP.
Just heartbreaking. A pillar in design, taste, and innovation, he would have achieved like renown in whatever field(s) he chose. Mr. Collings did the whole of lutherie and the stringed instrument industry a great service.
Since I'm not on Facebook, I will use this space to express my deepest condolences to Mr. Collings' family and friends. He will leave a lasting legacy of innovation in the crafting of fine fretted instruments and will surely be missed.
This is horrible news...
One of my favorite people on planet earth...
:(
I only met Bill a couple of times, and the only thing bigger than his personality was his heart. He did more for small shop luthiers than most will ever know. He'll be missed. RIP Bill.
Artists create with their hearts. His instruments inspired me to play better. Respects and best wishes to his family and all friends at Collings Guitars (and Mandolins).
Oh no! So sorry to hear that. Truly one of the inspiring larger shop makers of fretted instruments. My condolences to his family and colleagues.
Sad news indeed. He will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on.
