Yay!
Congratulations ~ I think you will be pleased with it when it arrives! I was at Dusty Strings last week and got to try out 3 Red Valley instruments (mando/mandola/octave) and they were all impressive. I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the price tag ~ a real good value!
Post pictures when you get it and enjoy it in good health!
John
Sounds great!
May it bring you great pleasure!
Great! Post your thoughts when you get to play it. I believe you said you got the wide model?
No, that was someone else... mines the EM with the mahogany back and sides.
I will post a few pics later... maybe a video too.
As of right now I'm still at work, probably be here a couple more hours ):
Update: my wife sent me a text saying that it's been delivered!
NMD should always be paid time off
Enjoy!! Looking forward to hearing the sound:)
Congrats! Enjoy it!
Hope is great, Zach! You deserve it. Congrats!
Update: got home... finally!
I couldn't be happier! I am beyond excited about this one
I'm very impressed by the careful packing.
I haven't been able to play it yet... eating dinner... starting my kids bed time routine but plan to soon!
I will post more later!

What a beauty! Look at that tailpiece!
Here's a little video of my new Mandolin! Enjoy!

Love it! Awesome picking, Zach. And sweet sound and I'm glad to see you're enjoying it:)
Those black tuners look so sleek on a body that light-colored. I dig it.
Nice video and thanks for not shooting it headless. :)
You can see you are enjoying yourself.
Sounds and looks great, Zach. Thanks for posting this, it has me even more jazzed for getting mine, which is the same woods as yours and hopefully should sound much like it.
Thanks guys! I really, really like this Mandolin. James was fun to work with and I am truly impressed by his craft! This one was his 210th build! Good number.
Since selling my last flat top, few years back, I had forgoten how much more sustaining the notes are in comparison to my Weber. This I really dig!
This mandolins sound is very rich. I hope it translated enough through my phones recording.
A few particulars/details... for those that care or want to know.
Spruce top
Mahogany back and sides
Mahogany neck
Ebony fretboard
Ebony bridge
Ebony overlay on upgraded tale piece
Rubner tuners
Rosewood headstock veneer
Unbound (EM)
SIT stings (light gauge)
Wegen TF120
Sounds good man!
Congrats and enjoy!
Mine is going to be almost exactly like Billy Brown’s mandolin in the first video on the Red Valley site. He didn’t have the same mahogany he used on that one, so the mahogany on mine will be less fancy, but everything else will be the same.
Looks and sounds sweet! You made a good choice.
Well done on SP btw
good-o, zach. you're trying to hide it, but I can see that new mando grin going inside.
Sounds great!
Enjoy
