Good job it’s at the other end of the country or I might have been tempted! An unusual beast in the UK - I’m only aware of another two. Trevor had a “pet” one in the shop but sold it a couple of years ago - he was originally asking £7000 but I gather this was to put people off buying it. I believe Hillary James has one but I recall her saying that she didn’t like the scale length for whatever reason.
That is a very good price for one of those, but.....
If you actually want to use it to play music rather than invest in a novelty item, your money will be far far far better spent buying a real double bass like an old Kay or an American Standard.
I had one years ago and I agree with James above. Better off getting an upright.
However if you want a vintage acoustic bass with frets then this is the way to go. They also look great around the house.
