Vorson Electric Ukulele conversion question
I just picked up a Vorson solid body electric ukulele and restrung it as a mandola per another thread here at the cafe. What I’ve noticed, however, is that the pickups don’t seem to be getting much out of the 1st string. All the other strings come through fine, but the 1st string is easily about half as loud amplified as the others.
Anyone else run into issues like that? Do I have a defective one, or do I need to upgrade the pickups? The issue persists regardless of the position of the selector switch or if I swap the amp or cable.
Thanks to everyone who has posted about these. Other than this issue, it’s a lot of fun to play.
Re: Vorson Electric Ukulele conversion question
Being a total electric noob, I didn’t realize the pickups were adjustable! Raised the treble side of each pickup and now things are a lot better.

And some pickups have individually adjustable pole heights, allowing even more fine-tuning of string balance. :-)
