Get both sets of buttons, and switch when the mood strikes you. Like a hat or jewelry.

I like the binding and buttons to match. Light with light- dark with dark. It's like shoes and belts to me.
If the mandolin is unbound I like dark buttons.

Or better yet just get a mandolin decked out each way, you can always use 2mandolins, or 3 or 4 or.............

I just put a set of Rubner brushed brass w/ebony buttons on my Yellowstone and I like that look, with the darker burst. My new two point will have brushed nickle with ivory buttons, just for a different look. It will have a lighter single color, to be chosen at a later date. T

I don't much care what color the tuners are. I don't even much care what color a mando is.
I must admit I love how my orange Red Line looks. Highly unorthodox. But I have no idea what color the tuners are, and I play it almost every day.
