My Kentucky KM-272 arrived!

Shown with my Loar LM-590!
Last weekend MF had a 15% off sale so I got a little discount. It’s a very nice little one holer. And a looker too.
It sounds great, not tubby, and quite a difference voice than the Loar (also great). I researched it it online and almost all links pointed here. Thanks!
I’m new to the mandolin, playing guitar since 1969 and uke since 2011. I play with a folk music jam group, raising money for a folk festival. We have 6 or 7 guitars, a couple banjos, ukes, and the mando guy stopped showing up (his business is growing and Saturday’s are prime time for him) so I figured I’d try it.
I’ve had a number of cheap mandolins over the years but never learned to play. So right now I’m playing all major chords and selected 7s and minors. I need to work on single string work and extend my chord shapes to something more movable. I palm mute for a pseudo chop.
Anyway, I’m having a ball with the mandolin and this forum is great.

Welcome to the club! I picked up a 272 last spring and have liked it a lot, as have others (with much more experience than me) who have tried it out. Hard to beat for the price.
