Lehigh Valley, PA - Jams and Clubs for the BG, OT etc newcomer
I did a quick search of the Cafe, and I don't see anything on this region of Pennsylvania in the last few years. Any jams, gatherings, or music venues that are of special interest to a mandolin and guitar player with pretty eclectic tastes?
It looks as though I'll be spending some time in the Bethlehem, Easton, Allentown, PA area in the coming year. Love to know if there are any regular bluegrass jams. And where the good music is to be found - and that can be jazz or anything in the trad world. (It's probably pretty easy to find rock clubs without the resources of the Cafe)

Brad, Bethlehem is the home of Godfrey Daniels, which is a very well known folk club. It's also a college town, so there have to be jams in that area. They do offer some jam opportunities

and if not there, the folks that run the venue will know how to hook up with other opportunities.

Well that'll do! It looks like a really great venue, not unlike Jalopy here in Brooklyn. Thanks!

Check out the AFBA:

They have a monthly shindig with stage performances and jamming. I used to attend when I lived near Philly. They have a facebook page as well:

I'm not going to be able to catch the 'shindig' this weekend, but I definitely will check it out soon.
By the way Cafe peeps, my wife and I will be looking for a place in or near Bethlehem, PA to rent while I move into my new job with PBS39/WLVR hosting Morning Edition. So if you know of anyone with a space to rent, or any solution that flies under the standard real estate radar - don't hesitate to PM me. A basement/garage where I can set up and repair musical instruments would be a dream come true - but any good ideas are welcome.
