NMD 1935 Gibson A50
Thanks to list member William Smith, was able to snag a 1935 Gibson A50. This model and year has an elevated fingerboard and f holes. When he talks about the great sound these make, he's not kidding! Think of the power of a Collings but with more bass, as a short neck Gibson is more likely to have. It's that good. Took it to band practice last night and even with a loud fiddle and clarinet (and occasionally a 2 row accordion) it held up just fine. Everyone seemed to like it. Not that my Collings MT is bad (it's not). This is just a different sound and one that compliments the other instruments. Can't wait to do a gig on Wednesday with a (different) fiddler.
Even cooler - this one is an export model with stamp on the back of the headstock and label inside the bass f-hole.
Okay - some pics or it didn't happen

I'm so thrilled you like her-these elevated board late 34's and 35 A-50's with F-holes are a whole other level! I believe one of the best values there is bang for buck on the vintage and new market! I love them!
