tune-o-matic type bridge for solid body eight string mandolin
I am looking for a place to buy a bridge for an eight string solid body mandolin that I am building and was wondering if anyone would have any information on it. I am thinking like a tune-o-matic style. I have a Machine mill coming soon so maybe attempt to machine one so if anybody has any drawings that would be helpful.
Thanks:(

Simplest Suggestion; get one from a guitar parts supplier and get measured data off it,
just leave out the width for 2 of the 6 strings ...
FWIW RMC makes piezoelectric pickup bridge pieces in several styles including tune o matic, in Berkeley Cal
.. each have a signal wire..
Godin Guitars uses their electronics as does Steve Ryder, electric mandolin maker, in Maine.

You might try emailing Pete Mallinson of Almuse. He told me he has quit making mandolins and is only winding pickups, so he might give you some advice. I believe he used to machine lots of parts himself and plate them, also.

Yes I have been taking a look at that kind of stuff as well, I have a new milling machine on the way so I guess I will get right into it and build my own I will post some pics when I design and build something I am happy with. Thanks for your suggestions":)

Give me a shout on email and I`ll send my drawings (thanks Tom).
Basically, all you need is a pillar (Drill press), a few drills and some 12X6mm brass bar (and a donor bridge for saddles and studs)
