Great Lakes Music Camp - 2018

Anybody on the forum making the trek to GLMC 2018?

Yep, I'll be there, and looking forward to it. From the Detroit suburbs, it's only a 2-1/2 hour trek. I was surprised to see there are still seats available - it sounds like a great camp.

I’ll be there too. Heading down from Boyne City as a returning camper. Great location and instructors.

Last year was so good, I just had to make it this year! Can't wait.

Fantastic! Can't wait to meet everybody. I'll be easy to find - I'll be carrying the mandolin in my avatar. I did download the class materials ... holy sh*t, there's a lot there to keep you busy!

Btw, I was notified today that there is a similar but confusing camp at a similar and confusing time to Great Lakes Music Camp....

Brian Oberlin is also running a mandolin camp, called "Great Lakes Mandolin Camp" in just a couple of weeks.

The folks at GLMC sent out an email with a small selection of Common Tunes that they are encouraging folks to get familiar with before the camp. They sent out a pdf of the following tunes, that our good friend Baron happens to have a few available at MandoLessons:

I'm going to be bringing my photography gear along and should have an area set up to do some mando-graphy. Looking for unique instruments to add to our archives so if you'd like some photos of your favorite mandolin just bring it along!

Anyone planning on returning this year for the GLMC 2019? I just registered, looks like a great line up and fun time.

Yup, I’m in. Haven’t been to this or any camp before and am stoked about going. What a great line up on a Great Lake!

I will be there again this year :)
