Just moved here and yes I am and also can give ya a small list of jams that happen weekly, if you’re still interested
There is a great Jam in Marietta at the Australian Bakery on the Marietta square every Tuesday. The city is currently in the process of renovating the sidewalk and adjacent parking, so the Bakery owners are closing down shop around 5:00 but we still sit inside and Jam until around 9:00 or 10:00. If you get there after closing, just tap on the door and someone will let you in. It's a great group of folks, most of whom are involved with SEBA (the South Eastern Bluegrass Assoc.).
I usually show up around 6:30 or 7:00.
Just saw this post is just over a year old,... but Paranoidbernzoid, come on out if you're interested!
There is a Celtic Jam at the Marley in Decatur every Tuesday. I think it is not a beginner jam but it might be fun to go and listen.
Public small jam on the south side at Ronald Sachs Violins in Peachtree City. Fridays, 2 - 4 pm. All player levels and acoustic instruments welcome. And, of course, we like mandolins. Bring a chair and a couple of songs to sing. Pretty much any music genre, but keep it simple. You'll find traditional bluegrass, country, blues and Americana, depending on who shows up.
