Since a lot of folks will probably not be around to vote between Christmas and New Years, I thought I'd post January's tune of the month poll early.

Summertime
How High The Moon
Lady Be Good
All are fun tunes.
It depends on what chord changes y'all want to work on.
"How High the Moon" is the slightly more complicated one in terms of chords and key areas and the one I'd suggest.
If we really want to get into chords and key centers, I'd suggest "All the things You Are".
Another version of "Lady Be Good" - more string playing, although I love Shaw:

Save "Summertime" until warmer weather!

While written in A, he is playing in G. Sax is a transposing instrument.

Just want to say, Lester Young, rightfully so, is considered one of the all-time Jazz greats. There appears no end to his melodic invention & he plays in such a relaxed manner. The essence of Jazz freedom.
If you want another example of Lady, be Good, check out the Dickie Wells Trio recording. Wells was a superb Swing era trombone player. His recording has one Piano chorus, other than that it’s Dickie’s show start to finish. Like Lester, simply outstanding.

Very good David, warts and all.
