Nothing I have in my files or have heard of that name. Post some photos and we can see what it might be related to. Often labels can be retail stores and not the actual maker.
Belongs to a friend. He brought it by to show me recently when he came to pick up another mandolin I had worked on for him. I'll have him send me some picts. Thanks
It also helps to have the name right. He corrected me. It is Monzino and not Mossimo...that's what happens when you get your tees and tops mixed up with your mandolins I guess.
Ah, yes, Monzino. They made many mandolins in their shop in Milan. Often labelled either "A. Monzino e Garlandini" or "A. Monzino e Figli". They also made flat-back mandolins of unusual design.
This one is quite nice with very high quality tuning machines, a hinged tailpiece and all around beautiful workmanship. It happens to have a curly/flame maple bowl which appears to have been left its natural color but has aged to a great color.
Here's a maple bowl Monzino to tide us over....
