Re: What was under YOUR tree this Christmas?
My dear hubby surprised me with a tenor ukulele! (I'd played in the store and liked the sound of it, and said I'd buy it if I had room for yet another 4-string). It was really a surprise - totally didn't expect it!
Also, got an armrest for my JBovier (love it!) - but that was from the Mandolin Store black Friday sale, so not under the tree.
My best X-mas present was the singing along and applause I received from the family when I played carols, Holiday pop-tunes, and classical melodies (upon request) on my mandolin after package-opening mayhem and before gravy-stirring duty.
I got lots of other nice, thoughtful things, and I feel blessed!!:mandosmiley:

Rob Page:
That is a kool-kat metronome. Way cool. Who gave it to you?

Re: What was under YOUR tree this Christmas?
A pack of strings and a 15-foot amp cord (both requested). I'm a happy camper!

Re: What was under YOUR tree this Christmas?
OMG yes. Yesterday I got a 1955 Harmony Patrician archtop six string (H1407). Today I cleaned it up, put new strings and adjusted the bridge, and after about 30 minutes of playing around, I'm in love. Happy Christmas.

Nothing musical this year...but I did get 2 pounds of black powder for reloading my 45-70 Springfield trapdoor !

Re: What was under YOUR tree this Christmas?
Having just bought my first mandolin, I ordered quite a number of DVD's from various places that were selling them off cheap, and was not allowed to see them until Christmas Day. Amongst them were, Chris Thille DVD, Stealing Second CD and tab book. Sam Bush, lead mandolin, Rhythm and Bluegrass DVD's (I already had his mandolin method bought cheap many years ago, it was meant to be). Butch Baldasarri Bluegrass workshop DVD, Ronnie McCoury DVD and the three Mike Marshall DVD's. Great Christmas eh?
Also had the Janet Davis Book. Enough material to last me several lifetimes. Also have the Sam Bush Bill Monroe DV on the way from The States(I already had the 1st one with Bill Monroe on VHS). Had them all at either half price or less by searching. Its great just watching them.

Re: What was under YOUR tree this Christmas?
I got some more large triangle 1.4mm Primetone picks as requested. Now I have plenty, so they will be dispersed in different cases and pick pouches for convenience.
Everything else was non-mandolin related stuff. Christmas came early for me because I passed my driving test first time just over a week before ^^

It's made by Ernie Fischbach, and sounds wonderful.
The look on my face is really "how do I make this camera work".

Thanks - Ernie made it by hand to somewhat match the antique original.

Thanks David,
I'm sure you know I was just kidding. The 'look' is probably the same one I have when trying to figure out my own camera.

Re: What was under YOUR tree this Christmas?
My wife and I closed on our new home in NY after our move from Maryland, so I suppose it was under the tree! I have a space to practice and work on my dissertation again, so that is certainly gift worthy :)

Tone guard for my A-style. I like it because I'm a timid and quiet player. It helps with volume and resonance.
