Re: Golden Gate "Clown Barf" Extra Stiff Pick
I got some from BB a few months ago after watching David Benedict's epic pick comparison YouTube video. I like the feel, but they're just not a slick/quick off the strings like my Bluechips, Wegens, and the Miller LG-55 I've been using more lately. They have become my "hazardous situation" picks, though, given how much easier they are to find, lol. It only took one of my nieces accidentally tossing my BC across the room at our family beach trip a couple of weeks ago to get the BC put on lockdown and the Clownbarf into action, LOL (yes, I found the BC)...

I think they should start doing mandolin binding in the clown barf color. I have a Collings MF in honey and it’s bound in tortoiseshell and I think it would look a lot nicer bound in CB. Maybe a nice contrast would also be tobacco burst and CB binding?
Re: Golden Gate "Clown Barf" Extra Stiff Pick
Love the Clown Barf look.
I bought a couple of Clown Barf thumb picks to try 'em out. Fine, but no different than most other thumb picks.
These days I'm using those slick Fred Kelly delrin thumbpicks. Delrin offers much less resistance than other plastic. It's used on machine parts where lubrication isn't practical. A smooth ride.
I'll bet Fred's flatpicks have the same advantage.
Re: Golden Gate "Clown Barf" Extra Stiff Pick
I just ordered the Dawg-style Clown Barf picks, two of each thickness. After the many repeated mentions here on MC my curiosity about CB picks is piqued.
Re: Golden Gate "Clown Barf" Extra Stiff Pick
I bought one after David Benedict recommended them on his Saturday morning live feed on YouTube (starts at 11 ET). I find them a very nice alternative. I use my BC CT55 most of the time.
