Interesting case candy, Thile Rookie Card?
I recently bought a mandolin here in the classifieds. To my delight this was tucked away between some spare string sets. Attachment 160841 Attachment 160842. I'd never seen one before. I assume these were included inside of the "Stealing Second" cd packaging?

Impressive stats. :)
By the way, was Thile the youngest-ever winner of Winfield?
Re: Interesting case candy, Thile Rookie Card?
I wonder if he still has his own card !!!!!

Hey thanks for the photo help!
I didn't know until I found this card and searched the forum to find Chris is a lefty that picks right handed, as am I. Hopefully that accounts for some of his musical mastery!!

Must have only been in a special (early?) edition or something. I bought that CD around 2008 and it had no such card in it. Pretty cool, though! I'd never seen it before.
It is a proven statistical fact that left-handed people tend to have higher IQs and special skills. I don't know if it's a function of their brains being wired differently, and making them left-handed is a side effect of that, or whether being left-handed and having to live in a right-handed world causes their brains to adapt more efficiently and learn better. But it's an interesting phenomenon. (I'm right-handed but my twin brother is left-handed.) I do think that Thile's left-handedness is partially at play with his mastery of the mandolin. Both physically and mentally.

He's admittedly a huge Cubs fan...probably has at least one stuck in a storage box in the attic...

Or is he a righty who bats left?;)
