    Re: My July 2016 LaPlant

You can’t talk about Lloyd LaPlant without mentioning his guitars. 176528 You also need to know that he’s the nicest guy you will ever work with.
  9. Re: What to do about a big increase in my mandolin’s value?

Play it and enjoy it... I bought my first Gilchrist for $2250. I still play it and take it wherever I want to. Don’t just lick it up!

  11. Re: Time to buy bongodrums? (Damage to finger - Warning Graphic!)

I cut the middle finger of my left hand last summer. I ended up with 14 stitches and a fear that I would never play again. FYI the cut was on the top of the finger between the knuckles very similar...
  12. Re: What is your absolute favorite F style mandolin CASE?

Pegasus is my favorite. I have one I use for travel. I also have three Caltons but they are not quite as comfortable to carry.

    Re: Good enough? Practice tips

Play a lot and focus on tone and technique. What you play doesn't matter. Tone and timing are what's important. When you have that, everything will sound performance ready.

Re: How much for the best?

The best is very subjective. I've owned my first Gil since 1987. He wasn't known by many then but wow what an instrument. I got my first LaPlant in 1999. Everyone who has touched it tells me it's a...
