If you like them twice as much, or the same and they'll last twice as long: yes. If neither: no. If both: H*** Yes!
I'm only 1-month into my F-4 but agree in spades. Best part? My wife absolutely loves the tone, which means more playing time for me!
They are great sounding mandolins IMO. Deep, rich and round. A perfect compliment to an F-5. Daryl, there is a LOT of variability of design on these from the early 1910's to the mid/late 20's: The...
You can get the K&K Pure Preamp for $200. It is what I use with my MD615 (though I don't play amplified very frequently).
Drop D.
The great fingerstyle guitarist Al Petteway passed away suddenly last week. Here is a post from his wife and duets partner Amy White: https://umgf.com/rip-al-petteway-t228209.html

The light weight of the instrument and the short length of the neck should alleviate any concerns about stress on the neck joint, and the string tension will actually make the neck joint less prone...
Yes. That's why i used a thin ribbon with my set-up. Just to make it harder, I mistakenly wound the first G string "down" the tuner peg, so there's even less room! :disbelief:
I really wanted to use my Lakota Leathers braided "scroll" strap but as mentioned, that pivot point was not working for me, putting pressure on my index finger knuckle that was "holding up" the neck....
Boy, That'll teach him...14 years ago. :))

The MN Mandolin Orchestra has that tune in its set-lists this summer! It's a fun tune to play.

Very well done, my friend.
As far as commissions go, they are in the 20-25% range typically. You have to decide if the reduced hassle and enhanced marketing are worth that.
I have sold guitars on the Acoustic Guitar Forum...
I bought an Artist model (Rosewood b/s and Engelman "f-hole" top) direct from Kilin Reece in HI. I have no intonation issues, so I wonder if TMS didn't do an effective set-up? High nut maybe?
I...
Me too! Thanks Matt.
Put 409's on my 615 last month. Big improvement.
