For what it’s worth, I’ve always used different sized picks on different sized instruments.

It’s all up to player preference. I’m opposite from you as I like Large triangle (346) shapes for mandolin and smaller teardrop (351) shapes for guitar.

What are you looking for - an open-ish fingering for an F chord or Bb chord? :confused:

For an F chord on mandola, you would play the equivalent of a C chord on mandolin. For an open-ish...

Its a bit stretchy on a 17 inch for me anyway,

for Bb on mandola I tend to use 2301 or 5335 or 5785

but if 5301 works by all means.
