    Re: 5 String Archtop Tenor

My 5-strings were all made by Paul Lestock of Arrow Guitar & Mandolin. Scale length is ~22.75" if I recall (I'm not near them at the moment).

I generally use a regular guitar pack and drop the...

    Re: 5 String Archtop Tenor

I have a few 5-string tenors with that scale. I use FCGDA and find it really accessible. Straight 5ths across the strings.

    Re: Instrument Insurance Help

I've had one claim on on Heritage Insurance policy for some water damage. They covered the repair as well as loss of value. It was any easy transaction, and made the policy worth it.

Re: Are tenor guitars slightly evil?

I gig more on tenor guitar than mandolin (country/western/swing), but mandolin is always my first love. Given the price, it's easier to find "deals" on tenor guitars and end up with a collection :)

Each of those are tuned FCGDA....Sounds like an archtop with focus and snap...I had the top carved with a slightly flatter arch in order get a little more sustain/tone.
