Re: Another from the 2020 crop

    Tastefully understated beauty.
I absolutely LOVE the bearclaw on the top.
The tuners are so nice, also. What is the brand you used?
Is the brass tailpiece of your design? It truly adds to the...
  4. Re: Marketing and getting your name/brand out.

There is no one magic bullet here. A good start would be to read Nigel Forster's Making a living in lutherie:from amateur to professional. You can get a pdf for a few dollars from...

    Re: Stolen guitar bouzouki found

Great news, Nigel. Hopefully the first of a trend.
    What a great-sounding instrument, too.

Re: Is tenor guitar website working?

I'm assuming what you're really asking is if the website is abandoned and not being actively maintained, rather than if it's "working". From a technical point of view, those are entirely different...

    Re: Me latest creation...

There are quite a few builders making rigid back and side instruments, including guitars, it appears to be a controversial subject for some folk!
Many heavy debates on certain forums and Facebook!...

    Re: Holoubek contact details?

I think August Watters has had more contact him than most people - you could send him a PM.

I don't think the 4 people on the "Holoubek Social Group" could offer much help.

    Re: Holoubek contact details?

    Nigel

There is some info in the builders database but I've no idea how up to date it is.

His email in July 2006 was urias@cmail.cz please let us know whether this still works. (He posted this...

Re: A short film - Birth of a Luthier

My videos would be mostly me standing around trying to figure out how to avoid mistakes I made previously, leading me to make new mistakes, and then trying to figure out how to fix the new ones.

Adrian, not everyone has a keen eye or a steady hand. Even those that do now might not as they age.
