Hi,
Hope it's OK for me to post this here (and apologies in advance if not).
I've been really missing jamming over the past year, and backing tracks haven't quite filled the gap. Either...

I like the group Dead And Company, with John Mayer on guitar, which I think has revitalised the Grateful Dead (the group still includes Bob Weir and the two drummers, but not Phil Lesh ) and they...
Was sorting through my Youtube videos and realised all sorts of videos were listed in the tenor guitar playlist. Well, its all sorted now, so follow the link below for half an hour of tenor guitar...
Really dig solo mandolin recordings.
Or go for something a lot different. Solo screeching electric mandolin ala Master Alex Gregory's 13 13 Jokes for Heavy Metal Mandolin, hosted on the Cafe's MP3 page.
Here's his "Heavy Metal...
I just checked iTunes and was pleased to see that my solo mandolin CD - Deer Tracks (for solo mandolin) - is listed. They've created a nice little page that includes four of my CDs and also links to...
I have a release waiting to be listed at CD Baby, of unaccompanied 10-string. Any day now. Title will be "5 x 2".

Have you taken a look at this video? It was made for the Cafe's profile of Michael Daves who teaches Bluegrass Vocals for ArtistWorks, but it's a great guide to building a bluegrass mandolin solo.

I love my electric octave (GDAEB). It has a sound very much like my favorite electric guitars, but
A) I don't have to deal with the nonsensical tuning of a guitar, compared to the mandos clean...
in my experience on the 5-string electric, I'll usually "comp"(grab chords for accompaniment) in the mandola range of the five, lower four C-G-D-A. i've heard my friend and electric mando hero Paul...
Hi folks!
Here's a little composition for octave mandolin that I just recorded with my Weber Bitterroot F4.
Hope you like it!
