Re: Douce Ambiance - Chord Melody [Tab]

    Nice!

I've played that tune hundreds of times on gigs and even with a solid rhythm section it is not easy!

    TablEdit is back!

Mandozine was hosting a wonderful collection of TablEdit files for mandolin, but as you are probably aware it has not been reliable lately. The site went offline at the beginning of 2019, was...

That was awesome! Thanks for sharing. Well done!
  6. Re: A tune I wrote for octave mandolin - Something Squirrelly

You're doing things there that I didn't even think possible. It's a beautiful tune and a perfect and impressive rendition.
  7. Re: A tune I wrote for octave mandolin - Something Squirrelly

Great artistry and composition Mandolin Wild! Very enjoyable. I think Octave Mandolins are suited perfectly for Irish music! Awesome! Is that a Pono short scale OM?
  8. Re: A swing tune I wrote called Sunrise Swing with tab.

Great one - great playing ! Thanks !
  9. Re: A tune I wrote for octave mandolin - Something Squirrelly

    Sweet. Nice picking.

I really enjoyed this. Left me wanting more. Well played. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Re: A tune I wrote for octave mandolin - Something Squirrelly

It almost sounds more like a slide than a jig—more in 12/8 than 6/8—but, nevertheless, a lovely tune and well-played.
  13. Re: A tune I wrote for octave mandolin - Something Squirrelly

Great, driving jig you have written, and you play it really well. Your octave sounds great too.
  14. Re: A tune I wrote for octave mandolin - Something Squirrelly

Sounds great! Going to give this a shot capoed on my tenor guitar. Won't have quite the same ring, but I think it'll work.
  15. Re: A tune I wrote for octave mandolin - Something Squirrelly

Wow that sounded great! An interesting case for the capoed OM—unique timbre zone, resonant but light.
  16. Re: A tune I wrote for octave mandolin - Something Squirrelly

Very nicely done! Thank you for the tab as well. I’m at the beach this week with only a uke and a tele given the heat/humidity/travel, but am looking forward to having a go at it when I get home this...

Re: Red Valley Mandolin - Out On The Ocean

    NICE!

Several years ago in Maine, I picked up a lovely CD of lighthouse-inspired tunes on a variety of folk instruments, of course including mandolin! It's by John Mock, who apparently has done a...
