Need to try one. The end of my right forefinger is gone and I use the round butt of a teardrop now. Might would help me grip it better.

OK. I saw serveral old posts on the musical instrument makers page and they were looking for some.
It’s very dense and heavy and some luthiers use it.
Mine are taller than the power lines.
Hey Drew. I'm from Statesville too ! I've got # 16 Kelley A. This Nov. it will be ten years old.
Skip won the Mandolin Championship this past Sat. at the East Rowan Civitan Bluegrass and Fiddlers Convention.
He played one of his A styles. Mark Parchment backed him on guitar. WOW !
Good job...
Skip, Thanks for posting the good pictures.

Ok #I'm learning. That was the pic Skip sent me after the first coat of varnish.
The Montelone style was gone when I went to pick this up. Thank goodness, because it would tempt me too much. I really don't need another F style. I'm set now. A Kelley A and a Yellowstone.
The camera is gone and I can't make better pics(My first time) But here's what I got.
SKIP KELLEY A STYLE #17 11-21-06
Outside shot that makes it look more yellowish.
Just got my Skip Kelley yesterday. Man, can he build a mandolin! I love this thing! He's a pleasure to do buisness with.
I just wish I could have took better pics.
Here's the true color.
Skip- Aw Heck ! You might as well post a picture of "MY" A-style you almost have finished. Mark told me how wonderful the Monte style was. Man, I love the looks of that thing!
