I ordered my Old Wave oval back in 2018. When I spoke with Bill on the phone, I mentioned that I was about his age.
"In that case, I'll have to hurry!" he said, and we both laughed.
RIP, Bill.

I have an A model I bought from the classifieds here.
Ben's mandolins reflect an eye for design, and a high level of excellent fit and finish. I enjoy the playability and tuning stability of...
I agree with others that it's an M150. The grip holes likely make it a custom order.
I also suspect it's an excellent mandolin pick ;)
not meaning to detract at all from Jill's post, but just to emphasize the beauty of Max and Lauri's work ... here's my oval due next week ... additional pics on their facebook page
that's great, Jill
I especially like the look of the bound headstock
here are pics of mine after stain:
still trying to keep up ... mine is scheduled for what I call a "Brock burst", which is kinda maroon ...

I'm trying to keep up with Jill, so here's her mandolin's sibling ...

Beautiful banjo.
I'm a big fan of his banjos. Glad to see they're back on their feet.
Here's my build ... looks like I'm in the same batch.

the top on the Model M is Englemann, the A5Special is Italian spruce. to me, that might be the biggest difference, tonewise. I'd expect the Italian spruce to be a little punchier.
Tony,
the best pick depends a lot on your instrument and style of playing
I think the Dunlop variety pack is a good place to start looking at different materials and thicknesses:

Congratulations!
I also have an oval on order, so I enjoyed seeing the pics Max posted on his page.
I agree about the stunning looks, and I listened to a lot of clips, so I'm glad to hear you love...
Pickboy makes a very nice rounded jazz pick that I like to use for mandolin:

Thanks for your post, and your very positive review.
I've been a fan of their work for a while, and finally put in an order for an A-oval.
Henry has been the problem for a long time. Many of us know that anecdotally, so it's likely much worse inside the company. One of the first things a new plan should do is address the workplace...
interesting ... this is the first time I've read that redwood is "fragile" ... I've read that it should sometimes be finished somewhat thicker, but not that it's fragile.
I'd read what LMI has to...
