- Allo, I'm Paul from Cumbria. I'm pretty much new to the mandolin, having only had a Stagg for a couple of years, most of which has been mainly repairing it and learning a few songs. I've recently joined a local folk group, where once a month we have a themed night in the best pub in the wee market town I live in, and already I've had the terror/pleasure of playing with Maddy Prior (of Steeleye Span fame) there...I really wish I hadn't picked one of her songs for my first night there.... But aye, I'm a newb to folk and mandolin, but love the sound - especially when playing unexpected songs...Stone Roses songs sound ace on the ol' mando :D
