About Tommy Berry
- Biography:
- I have always longed to be able to play something. My late grandfather (Charles F. Metcalf of Winona, TX; also pictured in the middle of my current avatar) passed on to me his love for Bluegrass and old Country from his extensive record collection and his ability to pick just about anything, including the mandolin...but most notably his jug blowing from bands in his past.
I am inspired by MANY, but along these lines my love for the mandolin comes from Ricky Skaggs, Rod Stewart's "Mandolin Wind", and a 'distant' family member's (Bob Stegall, bass) local, yet nationally recognized Bluegrass band; Hickory Hill...featuring Michael Morrison on mandolin.
- Location:
