I'm not worthy of a biography. i'm no baad ass mountain picker. i'm just a Fence Building Contractor stuck in an undesirable city.
i wear Crocs most of the time, thus my username: Crocatoan (Croc-a-tow-an), and i'm trying earnestly to be a Mando Picker. i'm a heck of a slapping Bassist, and i picked up the Uke about 4 mo's ago and i can jam that Uke pretty dern good now. what led me to mess around and really enjoy the Mandolin was one of my favorite Bassists, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin, Solo).
i do really enjoy Folk music & Bluegrass also and hope to expand my education and CD library on the 2 genres. i ran into this site as i was comparing Mandolins to buy, and seeing all the Q&A threads from other Mando Newbies. This looks like a nice place to hang out and learn, so i'm all ears. i reckon this is the kinda place i can say: dern, yer, pickin', 'bout, y'all, yep, and other folksy comfort words. i must be gittin' better on the Mando cuz my cats & rabbits are startin' ta gather as i play my 1st Mando song, 'You Are My Sunshine'. i have a $50 Rogue A style Mando right now but i reckon i'll havta git me a $400 - $600 Mando job soon. i'm lookin' at Michael Kelly's, Washburns, Kentucky, and Gold Tone right now. i see that the F (Florentine) styles are a lot more $$. i bet they can get to $2500 real fast. welp... 'bout time fer me a cappuccino now.
