I do want to hear that Triggs sometime for sure. When will you be back in Cow Town? Heiden recently offered to sell me one of his extra stock, but like you, I can't justify that cost at my level of (in)competence.

I'll be east from the atolls somewhat, on a dormant volcano of mantle hot spot origin. Hopefully it will remain so until at least after New Years...
  4. D'oh!
I lucked outon Jim Triggs, getting a custom order both when he was needing to sell and when the CanuckBuck was better than par..
The two different Heidens I've played were both killer, but I couldn't justify springing for one at my level of skill.
    Have fun among the atolls!

I do know Mike and have even been to Nogg Fest in the past--however this year I will be on a plane to Paris for a few days for a thesis defense while it is on. That Heiden is really wonderful, as is every Heiden I've been blessed to touch. I really wanted to get Andrew Collin's A5 when he had to sell it, but he wanted MONEY for it, and not rock samples. Oh well...

I'll be spending much of the Christmas break in the south Pacific, back on New Years Eve, so unfortunately we don't overlap here much after all.
  6. Now is that any way to treat a mandolin? I'll be here until 3 January 09. I see Mike mcLeod is having his nogfest on Saturday. Do you know Mike? He's got a luvly Heiden A.

Mike! I see you are in Cow Town for a spell. I'd say lets get together and jam, but I just sent my mandolin off on the grey dog for some work.
  8. AHA...an appreciation for dry, scientific precision.....lol
Paleontology, with all of its taxonomic gibberish, was one of my fave subjects way back in Baccalaureate-land.

Hi mandoflash! Your custom title caught my eye. I am a paleontologist myself, and am pleased to see you even used the correct Phylum suffix! Nice to "meet" another geoscientist.
