Flags, sailing ships and whales. What next? (Feel a bit sorry for all those 300-400 whales that died recently) https://youtu.be/jNwhm68mnD4 Usually played in D/Bm, but I had to get that capo on there... Very cool!
That is one rockin' song, Simon. Well done on the slidey thing you do. Very nice. The back track is a bit loud and a bit muffled causing your main melody to take a back seat. otherwise, very cool.
Thanks Ginny and Frithjof, this tune is soooooo fun. I mean very cool And thanks for the advice on the backing track, Ginny. I checked it with backing at 85% instead of 100% and it was better in some ways, more blended, but those crazy painful slides we’re more evident. Will have to practice those, maybe do a popular sliding Bluegrass tune... Then I removed the reverb, that seemed to help. It did make me realise what my room sounds like too. The backing track itself seems very rock stadium. Sometime I’ve got to get a pickup for my fifths tuned mini guitar too...
That tune surely rocks the whales!
Is that a rock version of Cooley's reel? The sound quality is fantastic! You have obviously found the perfect recording set-up.
great stuff Simon, nothing like starting your day with a big smile on your face after listening to yourself and john
Really driving tune, Simon, and the remixed version is a happier mix, in my mind. I would agree with Ginny about your first upload re the backing. You are staying well ahead of the game with all the postings recently. Great fun, isn't it?
Rock version indeed, and like Dennis I sense a likeness with Cooley's.
Thanks gents, Cooley’s, that’s another tune I can add to my list of already recorded tunes. I’ll just make a duplicate of this one and change the title to Cooley’s. No-one will ever know.
