A Place In the Heart - Butch Baldassari

This is another tune that I couldn't find in the SOW files, but if I missed it, please accept my apologies.

It is the first multi instrumental I have posted, and is personally one of the most difficult tunes to make sound acceptable that I play on the mandolin. I find that faster tunes are much easier to execute - sound wise - than slower tunes, probably due to the limited sustain of the mandolin??

This was played with my Buckeye mandolin, 2010 Taylor Limited Edition Quilted Maple flattop, and an old Ibanez electric base. All three tracks were recorded in Reaper using an Audio Techniques AT2035 Cardioid mic and mixed down. Sorry for the boring photo through-out, but I couldn't decide when and what to change them to, so I just left the photo of my favorite toys displayed. (Sorry, but the tenor isn't used on this one)

    Hope you enjoy.

What a beautiful song and so well played, thanks. Yes the short sustain of the mandolin is why we all have to develop our tremolo. Yours is very nice and carried the melody along like floating down a slow moving river...

    Really well played, thanks.
‘Other Tunes’ are usually in this list: https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/g...856&do=discuss

-though good luck trying to find a tune this way, I don’t have a ‘search’ tab on Safari browser...

    Here’s a searchable PDF: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ax4prnq94...NCAFE.pdf?dl=0

Thank you all for your compliments.

And Simon - thanks for the PDF file. I've had trouble searching the site, so I had made my own searchable spreadsheet for the Tune of the Week, and started doing the same with the Other Tunes, but stopped due to the shear volume of tunes. Now I was able to find several of the songs I was thinking of posting and will hopefully post accordingly.

Bad Habbits - do you have a youtube page we can go to?

Don and Frithjof - thank you, I appreciate your responses.

Ginny - No, these are the first tunes I have ever posted anywhere. I guess I never realized how much I needed to share music with others until this isolation began. I can't just run over to one of my friends house and jam right now, so I have had to overcome my initial shyness of not posting online. Thanks.
