This is a recording of James Scott Skinner's lovely air. Played on my JK mandolin and Lowden O32 guitar, recorded via REAPER. There are two mandolin tracks, the second being the harmony part second time round. Apologies if this tune has been posted previously, but after my Flower of the Quern posting a few days back I was on a Skinner kick, and thought this one might just add a bit more peace to our troubled times. Pictures from my daily walk in Ardnadam woods just behind my home.
Very nice John, thanks.
Very nicely done John - thank you.
Very peaceful... I think the baby"s asleep now.
Lovely, John, thanks for that.
Thanks for this beautiful video, John. There is a thread for cradle songs but I think every song is worth its own thread. And every Skinner tune certainly!
Well played, and an outstandingly clear sound on the recording.
Thanks once again, fellows. All positive comments gratefully accepted. The SAW group is certainly keeping quite a few of us very busy just now! Just had some French-Canadian reels sent to me last night by a fiddle-playing friend, so will be looking at having a go at them for a wee change.
I put a comment on your YT page, so I'm a fellow too, right?
Very beautiful! I like the interplay between the two mandolins.
Thanks, Christian. Ginny, as my occasional collaborator on some grand tunes, of course you are a fine fellow as well as a fellowette!
