This reel is known as Kerryman's Daughter on thesession.org, but has once been played under the name of Fisherman's Lilt by the Bothy Band in their Morning Star set and has been on my list for decades. I would have liked to follow this up with Drunken Landlady, but Bothy Band played that in a different key to make it fit the set, and the combination does not work with the standard version. There are more funny versions of this on the web. So here goes (ABC to be found on thesession.org)
Fine rendition, B. I Like the droning effect from the low strings.
Those deep drone notes are what I like best too. That's a great sounding octave mandolin.
Thanks Marcy and John. Yes, the best I can do is not stand in the way of what this instrument is good at Credits go to Mr Roger Bucknall of Fylde Guitars.
It is always a pleasure to hear you play a tune in your distinct style. Thanks!
Fine sound on that one
Thanks Michael and Maudlin for the kind words.
Classic playing Bertram. I love the gusto and sheer energy of attack in your playing. Nice to hear.
Thanks Simon, it's some time ago, but I still play it in sessions in a set with Old Copperplate.

yes, Lawrence, that's the missing link to the orthodox version
Very nice Lawrence, gentle too, were you thinking of someone in particular? I think this is the version you’re playing (I had to put on my list). thanks Simon , looks like im using a wegen 1.4 pick, while they make triplets easier, i just cant get any volume out of thick picks, i tend to just use dunlop 60 these days
Another fine bit of playing there, Lawrence. Lovely triplets add to the enjoyment.
