preferred picks / the thunk problem

I wonder what others are using as their preferred picks on their RM1? The one thing I have not liked is that for some reason the E string especially has a thunk to the sound, almost over shadowing the pitch of the note, at least in my mind. I seem to have solved that with using a medium gauge pick with a sharp point. I have noticed that the same pick with a typical rounded "point" (like a classic Fender tear drop shape) gives the thunk but with a sharp point, the thunk is greatly reduced.

Right now I am loving the VPicks "Tremelo" pick which is hard and pointy.

Have any of you had the thunk problem and how have you coped?
