This is a song by Richard Thompson from his 1988 album "Amnesia", which I have played as an instrumental cover on mandolin and tenor guitar. Melody and chord progression from the transcription in the offical "Richard Thompson Songbook: Vol. 2" by Maartin Allcock. Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin Vintage Viaten tenor guitar Martin
Is Amnesia on the first Richard Thompson album? I'm a big Thompson fan, but I must admit, that I know none of the songs you play here. Anyway, fine playing of a nice melody!
Beautiful!
Thanks, Christian and Frithjof! Christian: The name of the song is "Waltzing's For Dreamers". "Amnesia" is the name of the album it first appeared on in 1988 -- it's one of Thompson's better-known songs from the middle of his career. It's been a regular in his concerts ever since, and there are a fair number of cover versions by other singers on Youtube. Here is a recent(-ish) concert performance by RT himself: https://youtu.be/RGAVSCm8WfY I'll post reference links for the other two songs in the respective threads. Martin
