For all you Octave Mando nuts, here's a pretty fine pair pickin' Cherokee Shuffle on guitar and octave mando.

  2. Joe Nobiling
    Joe Nobiling
Andy Hatfield pickin' Cherokee Shuffle. Believe he's with, or was with, the Grasscals. At least there's some mention of them. I really don't know who this guy is. Mighty fine playin' though.

Then there's this luthier and musician, Spencer Strickland.

  5. Eddie Sheehy
I'm late getting in on this. I have the Fiddler's Fakebook and it has Cherokee Shuffle, Lost Indian I, and Lost Indian II. Definitely 3 different tunes... anyway I'll get started with Cherokee...
  6. billkilpatrick
here's my stab at it ... "wrong indian" might be the better name for it:

  7. Joe Nobiling

    Nice feel/approach, Bill.

    Barbara Shultz
Very nice, Bill! It's good to have you back! Love your apron!
  9. Eddie Sheehy
    Hey Good-lookin'
    Whatcha got cookin'?

  11. farmerjones
    Way late. . . .
  12. Barbara Shultz
    Barbara Shultz
farmerjones... very nice! Is it just the camera, or is your mando blue/purple?
  13. farmerjones
No, ma'am, that's just a brown 615 Eastman. Probably my two bit webcam.
I do use a black laquer A style Rogue sometimes.
  14. Tom Tax
    Tom Tax
I finally got a semi-acceptable version of Cherokee Shuffle. Maybe I'll try again another day, but I doubt it. Tom

  15. OldSausage
Hey Tom I think that's your best yet!
  16. Susanne
    Some kind of version:

I was just playing around with some tunes to make a happy birthday video for a tube friend. Best way to not mess up too much..
  17. Rob Fowler
    Rob Fowler
    Sounds good, Suzi!!! Welcome back!
  18. Susanne
    Thanks Rob!
  19. Eddie Sheehy
AKA Confused Indian.... and confused Eddie... Played on an Eastman 905D 2-point. I shuffle between BG, OT and...

  20. Martin Jonas

Another old SOTW -- here's a growly low version, about as low as I can go on my waldzither. Considering it's only a 17" scale, and the low G is a single string, not doubled, I'm quite pleased with the punch of the bass.

There are a number of variations on this tune; this one is (as usually for me) Nigel Gatherers' version here.

    Still trying to catch up:

  22. Jim Baker
    Jim Baker
Excellent Manfred. Nice arrangement and very well played.
  23. James Rankine
    James Rankine
Thought I'd resurrect this great tune from 5 years ago with a quick run through with my friend Al on guitar.

  24. Simon DS

Another five years later, again resurrected.

  25. John Kelly
    John Kelly
Somehow I missed your version first time round in 2015, James. Lovely duetting from you and Al.
Simon, good to hear the tune revived again. You can't keep a good oldie down.
  26. Gelsenbury
Smooth as cognac, Simon. I'll put it in my diary to post in another 5 years.
