A very pleasant recording, Christian. It is in good company of so many other interesting versions here.
This is very lovely CC. Enjoyed it very much. One of my favourites - and if I am correct one of the first John and I did together a while back although I don't see it here, maybe we didn't post it.
Very nice cirsscross. I have always liked this tune. I have heard it in 4/4 too but much prefer 3/4.
Thanks Frithjof, Ginny and Robert!
Here is my recording of Star Of The County Down, in the arrangement that we use in our weekly mandolin gatherings -- this is Evelyn's arrangement, and quite different from my 2013 recording earlier in this thread. Given that this is my first recording on the Gibson since my emergency repair last weekend, maybe I should use the tune's alternative name "Dives and Lazarus" (as in Will Fly's version in this thread). Eagle-eyed viewers may spot that I still have the tailpiece cover off on this take -- it's back on for my later recordings made today. 1921 Gibson Ajr mandolin (x2) Suzuki MC-815 mandocello Vintage Viaten tenor guitar Martin
