My rendition of Adam Sutherland's reel about a small town just east of Loch Ness, paired with Silver Spire. This video features my old nutless banjo and a cameo appearance of Norman-Magnus MacLeod, 26th Earl of MacLeod (whose resemblance made a tour guide at Dunvegan Castle laugh when I stood in front of that painting). Notation can be found at thesession.org (G major is what I do). The syncopated B-part made this a favourite in our local session.
Fine set, Bertram, and brings back memories of our great afternoon here not so long back. You certainly have seen a lot of Scotland!
Great integration of melody and chords. Really like this Bertram.
Well done Bertram, that’s a great tune, the first one, I like this one a lot. You’ve got the percussiveness that accentuates the syncopation in the melody, like a March. Inspiring.
Thanks all. Sunrise has correctly identified the syncopation as the fun part, though I doubt if a pipe band could be persuaded to march to that
