Thanks Barbara! There seem to be two settings of this waltz. The Teardrop Waltz has been the front-runner for the last week, so I already recorded my version. It's a slightly simplified variant of the first setting:

I can't keep up with CC. I want to play them all, but like Frithjof I cannot do them all. But it sure is nice listening to them.
Do people still post their versions of these tunes? I've been AWOL from the group for bit. Threw in some double stops and tremolos to compensate on having a pick instead of a bow in my right hand. And don't try to set your metronome to my "counting" all the dotted quarter notes!

I meant to record this lovely waltz earlier, but have only just got around. This is an old-time waltz tune by the Canadian fiddler Reg Bouvette, which I have recorded on an old Gibson mandolin with tenor guitar backing. Leo - do you have a You Tube page? I'd like to find it if you let me know what it's called. Thanks Martin, your version is very nice and nicely balanced with the tenor. As a Canadian I did not know we actually waltzed. Usually we only write songs about freezing feet. Maybe waltzing kept us warm.

Nice to listen to and to watch. Are there two mandolins and a guitar in this video, or is the F-style a mandola?
Thanks Christian, two mandos - the F-stye is a recent purchase, Eastman 815. tbh I think the slight dissonance in the unison bits first time round is because of using two different mandos. They blend very well in the harmony bits but maybe slightly different in the unison bits. or I just didn't check my tuning carefully enough.
